2008 Taylor 814ce – Natural – ES1 Electronics
A beautiful example of a Bob Taylor-era 814ce, built in 2008 and finished in Natural. This is from the earlier generation of the 814ce, prior to the later Andy Powers redesigns and V-Class bracing, and features Taylor’s first-generation Expression System electronics.
The 814ce has long been one of Taylor’s flagship Grand Auditorium models, pairing a solid spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides. This example has an especially attractive set of rosewood, with deep color and pronounced grain that really comes alive under the gloss finish. Appointments include maple body binding, abalone rosette, ebony fingerboard and bridge, decorative fingerboard inlays, gold Taylor tuners, Venetian cutaway, and the classic 800-series aesthetic from this era.
The Grand Auditorium body gives the guitar a versatile voice with plenty of clarity and definition while retaining the depth and low-end response you expect from a rosewood Taylor. The cutaway provides easy upper-fret access, and the onboard ES1 Expression System makes it ready for amplified use.
This guitar is in Excellent condition, particularly impressive for an instrument approaching 20 years old. It has been cleaned, restrung, and gone over prior to listing. There are light signs of age and use consistent with a pre-owned instrument, but overall it presents exceptionally well. Please see all photos for the best representation of its condition.
No case is included. Because of that, local pickup is strongly preferred at this time.
A particularly clean example of an earlier Bob Taylor-era 814ce with beautiful rosewood, classic Taylor appointments, and nearly two decades of age behind it.
