Gibson BB King Lucille – 2003 – Ebony

If you know, you know. And if you don’t… this is the guitar that helped define modern electric blues.

This 2003 Gibson BB King Lucille in classic Ebony is pure class. No f-holes. No feedback drama. Just a fully bound ES-style body built for sustain, control, and that unmistakable singing voice that made B.B. King a legend.

The all-black finish with multi-ply binding is straight tuxedo energy. Gold hardware throughout. Varitone switch. Stereo output capability. It’s less “guitar” and more “tone command center.”

Plug this in and you immediately understand the design. The dual humbuckers deliver warm, articulate cleans with that syrupy bloom on top. Roll through the Varitone and you’ve got everything from round jazz warmth to sharper, focused blues cut. Notes hang. They don’t just sustain — they linger.

The neck feels right in your hands — comfortable, substantial, and easy to navigate. Bound ebony fingerboard with block inlays. Classic Lucille headstock inlay. Grover tuners. It looks refined and plays even better.

This one is in excellent condition. Clean finish, gold hardware still shining, frets in great shape. It presents beautifully and feels like a well-cared-for instrument.

The tailpiece has been replaced, and the original tailpiece is included in the original Gibson hardshell case.

This isn’t just a 335-style guitar with a name on it. It’s a purpose-built instrument tied directly to one of the most expressive players to ever live.

Lucille doesn’t scream.

She sings.
