Tom Anderson Drop Top – Tiger’s Eye.
Very good condition. OHSC included.
This is one of those guitars where you pick it up and immediately understand why people won’t shut up about Tom Anderson. The Drop Top is basically a Strat that went to finishing school, got a degree in tone, and now quietly judges everything else on the wall. Flamed maple top over basswood with that Tiger’s Eye finish that moves when the light hits it, binding for days, and the kind of fit-and-finish that makes most “custom shop” guitars start sweating.
The SA1R / SA1 / H2+ pickup set absolutely rips. You’ve got articulate, glassy single-coil tones that don’t ice-pick your soul, plus a bridge humbucker that has enough punch to handle gain without turning to mush. The Switcheroo wiring gives you a ridiculous amount of usable sounds without feeling like you’re trying to launch a spacecraft. Add the Buzz Feiten tuning system and suddenly chords up the neck stop arguing with each other.
Neck is classic Anderson perfection—hard rock maple with a rosewood board, satin back, super comfortable, fast without being skinny, and just stupid easy to play. Heavy frets, 25.5” scale, vintage trem that stays where you put it. This is very much a “plug in and forget about the guitar” kind of instrument.
Condition-wise, this one is excellent overall with one small, honest blemish on the belly cut on the back. Nothing structural, nothing you’ll feel while playing, and definitely nothing that stops it from being a top-tier player. The rest of the guitar is clean, well cared for, and exactly what you’d expect from an Anderson.
Includes the original hardshell case.
If you’re tired of chasing upgrades, mods, and “almost there” guitars, this is the one you buy when you want to be done searching. Plug it in, play everything from clean to mean, and quietly wonder why you didn’t do this sooner.
