The Beauty of the Burst series was Gibson Custom paying tribute to the most revered original late-‘50s/1960 Bursts ever documented. These aren’t random finishes. They’re inspired by specific vintage guitars that helped define what a “great Burst” actually looks like.
Page 129 is one of those.
 
The fade. The saturation. The way the red melts into that amber center. It’s not loud. It’s not modern. It’s that slightly darker, richer burst that feels like it’s been aging for 60 years. The flame is tight and three-dimensional, rolling under the light with that deep holographic movement you only get from a properly selected figured top.
And Gibson Custom clearly took their time with this one.
 
Maple top over lightweight mahogany. Nitrocellulose lacquer. Historic construction throughout. It weighs 9 lbs 3.2 oz — right in that sweet spot where you get sustain, authority, and punch without it feeling like a shoulder workout.
 
The 1960 Slim Taper neck carve is fast but still substantial. It has that comfortable vintage feel that just disappears in your hand. Rosewood board, trapezoid inlays, nylon nut — all the proper Historic details.
 
CustomBucker pickups (Alnico III) absolutely nail the tone. The neck is woody and articulate with piano-like lows. The bridge has bite and vocal midrange without getting harsh. Roll the volume back and it cleans up beautifully. Open it up and it sings with that classic R0 snap and clarity. The 500k CTS pots and paper-in-oil caps give you that smooth, usable vintage sweep.

Condition is excellent. Very clean overall with only light, honest handling signs. No repairs. No structural issues. No drama.
