Gibson Custom Shop ES-359 2010 – Sunburst
 
Alright… this is what happens when Gibson takes an already killer platform (ES-339) and decides to dress it like it owns a private jet.
 
This 2010 ES-359 is the upscale, gold-draped, black-tie version of the small-body semi-hollow world. Same tight, comfortable footprint—but with all the attitude and refinement cranked up. Think ES-335 energy… but it hit the gym and got a promotion.
 
Finished in a classic Sunburst that absolutely pops in the light, this one has that deep, glowing center fade with dark edges that just screams “I make expensive noises.” The multi-ply binding, gold hardware, and that tort guard combo? Yeah… it’s doing a lot, and it knows it.
 
Tone-wise, you’re in that sweet spot between woody hollowbody warmth and solidbody punch. The ’57 Classics bring the goods—smooth, articulate, and just enough bite when you lean in. Clean, it’s rich and glassy. Dirty, it gets mean in a very controlled, grown-up way. This is the kind of guitar that doesn’t flinch when you roll the volume down—it actually gets better thanks to Gibson’s Memphis Tone Circuit wizardry .
 
The ebony board with block inlays feels fast and classy, and the neck carve has that comfortable Gibson fullness without getting bulky. It’s a “play all night, forget what time it is” kind of neck.
 
Condition is very good to excellent—clearly well cared for, with only light signs of honest play. Nothing wild, nothing scary—just enough to remind you it’s been loved instead of living in a vault.
 
Comes with the original Gibson Custom Shop hard shell case and COA, so you’ve got the full package.
 
This is one of those guitars that quietly flexes. Not loud about it. Doesn’t need to be. You either get it… or you don’t.
 
All guitars are tested and playable when they leave the shop; however, they are not professionally set up. This means minor tweaks may be needed to suit a buyer’s playing style, especially after shipping as temperature/humidity changes can affect setup.
