Novo Voltur 2023 – Lake Placid Blue Worn Through Black

Novo has a way of blending vintage attitude with boutique craftsmanship, and the Voltur is one of the coolest examples of that philosophy. This one wears a killer Lake Placid Blue topcoat that’s been relic’d to reveal the black base underneath, giving it that naturally worn, broken-in look that feels like it’s been on stages for decades.

This is a factory medium relic from Novo and the guitar is in excellent condition overall. The relic work is all original from the factory and part of Novo’s finishing process, giving the guitar that perfectly worn-in aesthetic right out of the case.

The contrast between the metallic blue and the exposed black undercoat gives the guitar a ton of visual depth. It’s the kind of finish that looks different every time you turn it in the light — bold blue on top with darker edges and wear spots that make the whole thing feel alive.

This Voltur is also ridiculously lightweight at just 6.76 lbs, making it incredibly comfortable while still feeling resonant and lively in your hands. The medium neck carve paired with a 9.5" radius feels immediately familiar and easy to play, striking a great balance between vintage feel and modern playability. Nickel frets and a classic 3-ply black pickguard keep the look clean, while the chopped Tele-style bridge and Kluson tuners give it rock solid tuning stability and a bit of that old-school hardware charm.

Pickup-wise this guitar is seriously dialed in. In the neck you get a Lollar Staple P-90, which delivers that huge, piano-like low end with articulate mids and shimmering highs. It’s warm and expressive but still extremely clear. In the bridge sits a Fralin Unbucker (F-spaced), bringing punch and power while staying open and dynamic. The pairing works incredibly well together and gives the Voltur a wide tonal range that covers everything from big clean chords to gritty rock tones without breaking a sweat.

It comes housed in its G&G hard case.

Novo guitars have built a serious reputation for their craftsmanship, tone, and feel, and the Voltur platform perfectly captures that mix of vintage inspiration and modern boutique quality.

All guitars are tested and playable when they leave the shop, however they are not professionally set up. Small adjustments may be needed to dial the instrument perfectly to your playing style after shipping. Temperature and humidity changes during transit can affect neck relief, action, and tuning stability.
