PRS Custom 24 – 2007 – Gray Black – Moons

Let’s talk about this top.
 
This flame maple is not polite. It’s not subtle. It’s not “oh that’s nice.”

This thing looks like a thunderstorm trapped under glass. Deep, inky Gray Black with flame that rolls and ripples like it’s alive. You move it two inches and the whole guitar changes moods. It’s basically a mood ring for grown adults who own tube amps.
 
This isn’t that washed-out gray either. This is charcoal-meets-oil-slick-meets-“why does this look way more expensive than it should?” The figuring has that tight, wavy, hypnotic ripple that PRS was absolutely nailing in the mid-2000s.
 
And yes. Moons.
Not birds. Not “look at my dentist’s bonus check.”
Moons. Clean. Classic. Slightly rebellious. The “I actually play gigs” inlay package.
 
2007 Custom 24 spec sheet still hits:
– Mahogany body
– Carved flame maple top (clearly angry in the best way)
– 24 frets
– 25” scale
– PRS trem
– Dual humbuckers with 5-way blade
 
The bridge pickup bites without getting harsh. Tight low end, focused mids, and enough clarity to make you question your pedalboard choices. The neck is smooth and vocal, does the singing sustain thing effortlessly. Those in-between positions? Sparkly, snappy, and stupid usable.
 
Condition is excellent. This thing was loved, not dragged behind a van. Clean finish, hardware looks great, neck feels fast and broken-in the right way. It’s one of those guitars that feels immediately “right” the second you wrap your hand around it.
 
Flip it around and the back keeps that dark, classy PRS thing going. No weird surprises. Just solid, honest, 2007-era craftsmanship when PRS was cranking out absolute killers.
This is the kind of Custom 24 that doesn’t need birds to impress anyone.
It just stands there like, “Oh, you brought your Les Paul? That’s cute.”
